The Women and Gender Resource Center Ambassadors (WGRC Ambassadors) are trained by professional staff members on the issues of interpersonal violence and the resources available to our campus community with a goal of promoting positive bystander behavior and building safe communities.
The WGRC Ambassadors give presentations to the campus community on a variety of topics related to interpersonal violence. These presentations may include but are not limited to: classes, student organizational meetings, and residence hall programs. WGRC Ambassadors play a central role in raising awareness of interpersonal violence and educating others on how to support victims and survivors on campus.
Membership applications remain open on a rolling basis, and the next time applications will be reviewed in January 11, 2021. Interested students are encouraged to apply to be an ambassador online.
Students who are invested in education and outreach are highly encouraged to apply to become a WGRC Ambassador. Please contact Allison Kumar at akumar24@ua.edu for more information on the Ambassador program.
