Each October, the WGRC hosts a variety of events and initiatives to recognize Dating and Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). This is an opportunity to spread awareness and knowledge regarding dynamics of dating and domestic violence, to support survivors in our community, and advocate for survivor support.
Join us on Wednesdays in October from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. for pop-in events to help spread awareness of dating and domestic violence on campus. DVAM ribbons/buttons and small DVAM crafts will be available; Free purple treats and coffee for all guests!
Join us on Tuesday, October 18 from 6-7:30 p.m. in Lloyd Hall 330 for a training geared toward student leaders interested in learning more about the intersections of LGBTQ identities and interpersonal violence.
EveryWoman Book Club will read and discuss In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado. The discussion will take place on October 27, from 12-1 p.m. at Legends Bistro inside Hotel Capstone. We ask that attendees RSVP to Debbie so that we have an accurate reservation.
Stop by various Bama Dining locations to see place settings honoring college students who have lost their lives to dating or domestic violence. Student organizations can sponsor a place setting by contacting Anna.
