The Women and Gender Resource Center hosts a variety of seasonal or annual events. While some of these events are established programs, many have opportunities for creative collaboration. If you or your department or organization have ideas for joint programming, please contact us at (205) 348-5040.

Awareness and Heritage Programming

The WGRC recognizes cultural heritage months and awareness months for a variety of topics. Activities planned for each of these months can vary from year to year, but many also include signature annual events. Check out each of these months on the left side of the page.

Chocolate Festival

Our annual Fall fundraiser, Chocolate Festival is an event during Family Weekend in which local vendors donate chocolate and silent auction items and community members purchase tickets to sample sweets.

Lunafest

Our annual Spring fundraiser, Lunafest is a film festival featuring short films for, by, and about women.

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Hosted in the Fall, Take Our Daughters and Sons to work day is an opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to bring their children (ages 8-18) to campus for a day of programming.
